Signing to Metalheadz in 2016, Detboi reach a career high by collaborating with Goldie on his first label release “Joyride” and scoring a top 10 UK vinyl singles chart hit with thuggish knuckle dragging “Secret Venom” the year after .
Whilst his sound offers explosions of old-skool breakbeats, injected with angelic vocals that glimmer into a cinematic darkness, it sets a vision of the Headz sound thats both past and very very future.
Detboi’s vision for his Metalheadz releases is to build on the labels legendary legacy, rather than rehashing it. It's this attitude that constantly sees him challenging tempos and linear DnB landscapes.
