Goldie's new work to premiere at BBC Proms 2009

Today is a landmark day for Goldie, as it'll be the first time he hears his composition being performed by an orchestra.

He has stepped out of his comfort zone & has been working with composition software called Sibelius, which is to classical composers what the likes of Ableton & Logic are to junglists. The software has allowed him to write in the dynamics, but there is no way for him to tell exactly what the 8-minute piece will sound like without a full orchestra.

Goldie has been working on the piece alongside his DJ schedule & all of  his other commitments. He's been getting up in the early hours to make sure it all comes together on the night.
